Fire vinegar is based on a traditional, warming apple cider vinegar tonic: everyone has their own favourite recipe, this is ours. It is anti-viral and anti-bacterial, so useful for a variety of illnesses. It acts as a holistic decongestant while also supporting immune health. This spicy tonic is perfect taken as a shot or as an addition to dressings for foods or with hot water as a warming drink. If you take it as a shot or as a drink, you can add honey to taste.

Take it daily to keep you and your family healthy and if you do catch something, take more often. Most people find that their cold is over in a couple of days.

Onions have been used to treat colds, sinus infections due to the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. They also relieve coughs.

Warming and antiseptic, horseradish is great for sinus congestion and head colds as well as helping with throat and lung problems, loosening up impacted mucous.

Ginger is anti-inflammatory, warming and decongestant for colds, flus and respiratory congestion and sore throats.

Garlic is the herb of choice for boosting the immune system. It is antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiseptic.

As a potent anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant, turmeric promotes all round health, as well as having useful pain relieving properties.

Parsley has useful anti-bacterial properties and is cleansing to the system, rosemary relieves pain and boosts the immune system, and thyme disinfects and helps to stop coughs. Black pepper is an important Ayurvedic ingredient for coughs and respiratory illness.

How to take fire vinegar

Mizan Botanicals fire vinegar is neat. You can add honey to taste – we recommend raw, local honey.

    • Straight up! Take a shot daily to help prevent succumbing to coughs, colds and influenza. At the first sign of a cold, take a tablespoon of fire cider and repeat every 3-4 hours.
    • Mix it with honey
    • Mix with juice
    • Add extra honey and warm water to make a tea
    • Use it in place of vinegar in salad dressings
    • Drizzle it on steamed vegetables
    • Use in marinades
    • Add to soups and stews
